About BCM Fareva

BCM is the UK Pharmaceutical site of Fareva, one of the largest health and beauty contract manufacturers in Europe. Here at BCM, our site has over 100 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. We are part of Fareva and our extensive laboratories sit alongside 40 factories who manufacture for a wide range of global companies.

Our History

BCM began life as the manufacturing and testing organisation of Boots. In 1933, D10 opened and was one of the country’s largest pharmaceutical plants, to this day BCM still operates from this Grade I building. Situated in Nottingham, this is also home to our analytical laboratories who have been a key part of the business since its initiation.

In 2017 BCM became part of the Fareva group, which is a worldwide, independent and family group, founded in 1981 by Bernard Fraisse.

Fareva is a world leading company in the cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, make-up, industrial and home care fields.

Our Laboratory

BCM Analytical Services has been a pivotal testing facility for our factory for over 80 years.

The Analytical Services team has approximately 60 members of staff. Roles include, analytical scientists, method developers, compliance officers and report writers. All with a background of exceptional analytical and technical knowledge.

Our laboratories have cutting edge pharmaceutical development and analytical techniques. To this day, they carry out analytical development for some of the worlds most trusted brands.

Analytical Services has a range of scientific equipment including, 23 HPLCs, (UV/VIS, RI, DAD and MS), 4 GCs and a spectroscopy suite (XRD, XRF, ICP-OES, ICP-MS).
